The New Year’s Eve festivities are approaching and that means one thing – The High Style Life fashion crew is about to put their best foot forward yet again. All year long we do our best to provide you with the latest trends and absolute best fashion inspiration, but only once a year do we get the chance to show you our personal renditions of said trends. We wouldn’t call ourselves fashion gurus, but we do have a great deal of knowledge under our belt as well as a keen eye for stunning pieces. So, just like every other year, we bring to you the carefully curated outfits we have chosen to rock for the big night. Each member has a different notion of what is sexy, classy, trendy, and it is these differences that make us so versatile. Hence, you are bound to be dazzled with at least one idea you’ll want to snag, as all of us bring something different to the table.
Claire’s minimalistic chic
Those who know me well are already aware of the fact that I have a soft spot for simplicity. However, I’m only human and can’t help being drawn to certain current trends as well. I know there are plenty of you out there who feel the same way – conflicted, so hopefully, the outfit that I landed on will help you bring the two worlds together. A gorgeous black cashmere turtleneck makes me feel both comfortable and timelessly chic, as well as the eternally trendy ankle boots that always look stunning but also allow you to dance the night away. Now, the camel faux leather skirt infuses just the right amount of trendiness, and the fact that it’s a miniskirt breaks some of the conservativeness of the top, resulting in a perfectly sexy, yet classy combo. The beret is the final touch as I do adore that air of French nonchalance. Structured statement earrings will be my only other accessory, as I do want to keep things on the minimal side, but who knows, perhaps I’ll play a little with glittery tights.
Scarlet’s inner Serena
Call me Serena van der Woodsen and I’ll reply. Yes, you’ve caught me red-handed re-watching Gossip Girl on Netflix, don’t judge. Serena is one of the most iconic TV fashion personas, and no matter how hard I tried to fight it, I just kept imagining myself in a Serena-inspired outfit. The glittery miniskirt will obviously go with sky-high heels; Serena would definitely approve. I am however keeping things on the casual side with a simple grey top and adding just a touch of sharpness with a blazer that will probably come off once I start dancing too much. A burgundy lip is a must, and when it comes to the hair, well, I guess I’ll just have to watch a few more episodes and bring a photo to my stylist. Rest assured, it will definitely be something messy-chic. Wouldn’t want to disappoint my style guru with the wrong final touch.
Roxana’s ‘70s show
To say I just love the ‘70s fashion would be a huge understatement. I am obsessed with this decade, which totally explains my choice of attire for the big night. As I’ll be spending it in the Northern hemisphere, I figured this is my chance to finally rock my faux fur coat (and my frilly strapless crop will be hiding underneath as the element of surprise). Of course, earth-toned wide leg pants are the obvious choice as it doesn’t get more retro than this cut and these tones. To seal the deal, and further elongate my legs, I’m going for the ultra-high block heel boots, and if the mood strikes me, a pair of large gold hoop earrings. If you love this decade nearly as much as I do, please feel free to emulate my look.
Bridget’s bold romance
Hey, I am a traditionalist, guilty as charged. I just believe there’s no better way to honor the beginning of a new year than wearing something red. I was initially going for a red suit, but at the last minute decided to go with something different. I can’t help it, I’m simply too addicted to dresses, and this year I’m really kicking things up a notch with an off-the-shoulder dress that follows my figure perfectly. After all, how many opportunities does one get to bring the sexy back? Patent-leather stilettos are a red dress’s ultimate ‘va va voom’ companion. Subtle golden necklaces are just here to bring a little more attention to the neckline, and the final detail – the structured clutch is there to bring a just a tad of trendiness to it all. This look calls for nothing else but old Hollywood waves, and simple eyeliner and red lip makeup look. Traditional with a sensual twist.
The evolution of Mia
Okay, I’m still a goth/pin-up diehard fan, but a gal has the right to mix it up every now and then doesn’t she? After all, who are we if we don’t allow our looks to evolve and expand? So, surprising as it may be, this year I’m going for full glam, complete with high-rise black trousers (the only black thing I’ll be wearing), a fully sequin sleeveless top. Just in case it gets a little chilly during the evening, I have my champagne-colored oversized blazer – hey, you have to give in to the blazer trend. So, hopefully, my look won’t only give you some glamazon ideas, but make you get out of your comfort zone and try something new. As long as you wear it with the same attitude, a little change of style is never a bad thing.
Let Stella shine
As the minimalist movement grows stronger, I, just like Claire, have become a fierce advocate of it. Minimalism allows you to always look impeccable with time to spare, and I’m all about that low-maintenance glam. That is precisely why everything, from my sandals, top and clutch is black, simple and the epitome of pure elegance. Still, if I want to dazzle, I knew I had to shake things up with a little sparkle – hence the skirt. Glitter is not something you wear every day, but it has its key moments. If you ask me, sequins have the custody over the New Years, and if you’re not going to rock them on the night they belong to, then when? I might even go a little crazy with eye glitter – I have to follow some makeup trends, and since the beauty world is dominated by glitter this year, why not take full advantage. It’s time to get super-festive!
Marie’s model vibes
In case you didn’t know, I’m actually Kendall Jenner. Just kidding, but hey, if supermodels can get away with tiny silver sequin dresses, why couldn’t the rest of us. I already have mine, all secured in my closet, and I plan to look, as Dua Lipa would say, hotter than hell. All year long I’m generally adventurous, outdoorsy and therefore wear casual and athleisure-type outfits. So, when a night like this arrives, I make up for all the glamorousness I’ve been missing and pull a supermodel move. You can too, just dare to put on a dress like this, and when you see how confident and sexy it makes you feel, you won’t want to take it off. The only thing that will be shining brighter than me will be the midnight fireworks.
Sophia the stunner
You already know that I am a firm believer in classic femininity. Long dresses, tasteful yet sensual high-slits, heels, and just the right amount of ostentatiousness. Therefore, my choice for the evening should come as no surprise. The iconic wrap dress with an interesting twist in the mid-section had me at ‘hello’. However, the added incentive wasn’t the sequins – I could have gone with any festive fabric. What truly won me over was the almost ethereal vibe I was getting from the chameleonic nature of the color – is it silver, is it purple, who can tell? It’s one of those dresses that simply speak to you, they’re magical. And, I absolutely adore the cut sleeves – both trendy and practical for hot nights. Silver sandals were the clear choice and I think I’ll be doing a smokey eye and a nude lip to seal the deal, toss my hair to the side – don’t want anything outshining this esoteric dress. This is what I call going all out.
Peter’s dapperness
Forget all you know about causal Peter and his love of trendy Hawaiian shirts and casual hoodies. This year I’m bringing it like I’ve never brought it before. After having a major epiphany last year – the epiphany being that nothing makes a man look more dapper than a suit, I can’t even tell you how many I’ve bought during this year. Now, since it is summer here, I can’t wear the warm ones as I’ll burst into flames. No, I’m going all light and breezy, with a chambray, beige suit and a classic white shirt – leave a few buttons undone. In the spirit of athleisure, I will be rocking white tennis shoes, but my bracelet will be in gold, so watch out New Year’s parties, Peter is coming and he’s coming to slay.
