Everything about one’s commitment to fashion, approach to style and individual key pieces are representative of a person’s attitude and personality, they speak volumes of one’s character, temperament and a (keen) eye for things that inspire. Fashion is no fashion without a statement, a feeling, a drive. Without emotion and thrill, fashion is non-existent. But you already knew that.
This holiday season, us fashion editors at HSL have decided to deliver you some sweet fashion with a twist; instead of suggesting outfits from currently-popular racks (although we did gasp over Carolina Herrera ready-to-wear 2016-2017 understated luxury pieces), we’ve decided to raid our own closets and put together little New Year Eve outfits we would (and probably will) wear, just to give our phenomenal readers a little real-life style inspo for the upcoming events. Guess what? Even if you don’t go shopping for New Year’s, you’ll still manage to deliver a jaw-dropping look, effortlessly.
Without further ado, we give you our choices:

I am all about sequin this time around! Count on me to be wearing my mid-thigh nude boots with a silver-sequin just-above-the-boots-dress. I may throw in a white fur coat over to add a little drama! Jewelry won’t be all that, the dress is a statement enough.

For me – black is the color when you want to look your best. I’ll ditch traditional glamour and go with a black wide pant and a velvet maroon top. I love me some edgy attitude. The moment where I shine is face and accessories – I’ll add the thrill with large statement earrings and glitter on the lids! I’m still to decide whether I’ll be wearing a tight low bun or hair down. What do you think?

No dresses for me, thanks! Everyone knows I am a pant girl. This New Year’s I think I’ll be wearing a tight pant in an interesting print, a tailored jacket (I love emphasizing my waist!) and a black and white minimal top. A nude/silver sequin clutch will give me the glitz and so will a heel in a similar shimmer. Hair messy and down, obviously!

Ok, do I really need to say it? I’m going black, of course. Although, I am still trying to decide whether to go with a black sequin bodysuit or this all-black-everything ensemble, spiced up with a statement piece of jewelry… Ahhh, I love how a piece of jewelry can turn even the simplest of outfits into phenomenal combinations!
I’ll be wearing red lipstick and shimmery lids with a lot of black mascara, that’s for sure. Oh and – black leather is also an option.

I am all about sequin this time around! Give me a golden flashy sequins top, black skinny jeans/leather leggings, super high-heeled ankle boots with a full heel and I am good to go! I might opt for a sequin dress only (no jeans), but we’ll see. I love to go with what feels right in the moment.
Zara
Well, you know me… I’ll stay true to my classy, comfy, organic, sustainable vibes, even for the New Years! Black is the word, of course. Or at least some neutral colors, please.
A black sequin top may be an option and so can an all-black ankle-long gown. It looks spectacular and it’s so comfy that I feel like I’m in my sweats wearing it!

As far as I am concerned, bye-bye simplicity, you’ve been a good friend all throughout the office hours! I am absolutely embracing New Year’s festive tone and going with something eye-popping and jaw-dropping! I love what’s Balmain been doing so far, so I may opt for a dress in such a style. Lace (black) is yet another option, with a nude undertone and a nude heel. I’ve been loving sequin as well, so I still remain to decide out of the three.
Accessories is my game and I always look to add a little edge to the glam I wear; earlobe diamond earring or a diamond choker may work, especially if I pair them with a heel in the same tone. I love oozing that a-little-extra vibe, you know?
Peter
All black and white look. Give me some black, white and a splash of red and I’ll conquer the world! To spice things up, a golden or a silver vintage watch will do the trick as well as a bow tie in an interesting pattern. Simple and fabulous.
