You know how there are two kinds of people, those who prefer summer and the sea and those who prefer the winter and the mountain; fans of the yoga and fans of the aerobics; coffee drinkers and tea drinkers; those who eat pizza crust and those who are not doing it. I love the sea, but my boyfriend prefers the mountains, so we always have trouble deciding where to go on a holiday. But there are a few destinations that can change your mind whether you are a sea fan or a mountain fan.
Koh Samui
Last year, I have managed to convince my boyfriend that we should spend our holiday on the Koh Samui. This beautiful island is the second largest island in Thailand. Its sandy beaches, crystal clear sea, vibrant sea world, jungle surroundings and welcoming people made me to fall in love with this island so much that I wish I could buy one of the amazing houses and stay there and live by the beach forever.
We went diving, snorkeling, kayaking and, because my boyfriend loves to play golf, we visited local golf club. I and he have one thing in common and that is that we love to learn about the local culture when visiting new destinations. Koh Samui gives you the possibility to visit old temples, local markets and fishing communities.
Finland
Our next destination is Finland. That is my boyfriend’s choice, because he is a big snow and skiing fan. I’m looking forward to see the aurora borealis, and to watch the snow falling from the inside of the warm and cosy glass igloo. Yes, you have read right, we booked one of the glass igloos in Kiilopääntie, Lapland, and I can’t wait to get there because it looks so romantic on the photos.
Costa Rica
We are thinking about going there one day, because our good friends were there two years ago and they can’t stop talking about Costa Rica. They say that the beaches are white and sandy, locals are very friendly, and that the mountain towns are breathtaking. They became “big surfers” because the surfing conditions there are great, and the nightlife in Costa Rican destinations is very good.
St Moritz, Switzerland
The fourth destination on our “have to visit” list is the St Moritz in Swiss Alps. It is well known ski resort with a world famous parties that starts already in early October (I googled it). Besides its great ski tracks it is well known as the first alpine resort with a golf course, and I already told you that my boyfriend has a “special” relationship with golf. It is situated right next to the Swiss border with Italy, so we are planning to rent a car there and visit the northern Italy, also.
You have seen our list now, which destination would you choose? Beautiful islands with great history and amazing beaches or romantic ski resorts and polar light…
