It is almost that time of the year again. Say goodbye to cocktails and ice-coffees and say hello to hot chocolate and cups of tea. Put away all of your crop-tops, sandals and shorts and make room for cozy sweaters, high-waisted pants and parkas. And the most important task of them all – give your hair a nice treatment. I think you will agree with me on this one: it really deserves it after putting up with pool water, salty sea water and of course, the one and only: SUN.
Ponytail Is Now A No-No
Yes I know, ponytails are the little black dress of hairstyles for summer, but now you need to give your hair a break. First of all, when the weather gets cold, your hair becomes a lot dryer and imagine what a ponytail can do to it then. How would you feel for example if somebody tied a rope around your neck and made you walk like that whole day huh? I’m just kidding, but seriously now, if you can’t control your hair when it’s down, use a hairpin and softly pin it up. Also, it is strictly forbidden to wear a ponytail to bed. Your head and your hair need some rest just like you do.
Get A Haircut
No matter how hard you tried to keep your hair moisturized during summer, your ends somehow found a way to split. This is completely normal since it has been fried with all that sun exposure, and it is something only a haircut can fix. So take your phone, call your hairdresser and make those split ends disappear. You can even consider changing your hairstyle because – why the hell not?
Dark Like The Fallen Leaves
First thing that comes to our minds when we connect the words : summer and hair, are those bleached-sun-kissed highlights. Since the summer is over, all those hardly earned highlights made by hours of sitting in the sun and gallons of lemon juice poured on your hair, will fade out, unfortunately. Dark brown, fire red (like Goldwell Topchic from StylishCircle) or even black hair can be a perfect refreshment and a great accessory to all your autumn outfits.
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
Just like your nose and your shoulders, the skin on your head also becomes dry and starts to peel from all the sunburns. Especially when the weather becomes colder. I know that you sure don’t find that dry skin pieces tangled in your hair very attractive, am I right? That’s why you need some good moisturizing oil, like Christophe Robin, with the sensual lavender aroma. It will bring your hair and your skin back to life.
Be Careful With Styling Tools
Since it’s colder now, you can’t just wash your hair and go outside. Now, you need to dry it. Make sure that your blow dryer is not producing a big amount of heat. The best choice are ceramic, porcelain or infrareds because they are designed to distribute heat as evenly as possible. Also, if you are a fan of hair straightening (which is not a recommended thing to do every day), ceramic flat irons are the best choice. The other important thing here is to always use protective products (spray, serum or cream) to prevent breakage of any kind.
Now that you know all these things, and if you follow all these advices, your hair will look like you came straight from the hair saloon every day.
